It all started with a message, on an ordinary Sunday.
When I saw Giacomo's creations, I was enchanted: a simple concept, crafted with an unusual material, requiring care and mastery to follow the forms of nature. I immediately thought that a handmade vase could further enhance his composition, and I was delighted to discover that he felt the same way. We set to work to create something that evoked summer. And what better symbol than the prickly pear? Strong, resilient, full of life.
This is how this small series was born. We created three versions in Ipe wood treated solely with linseed oil, each accompanied by a dotted stoneware vase , chosen to recall the color and texture of the plant.

🌿 Specimen 1 (left)

Essential and slender: two soft, elongated blades gracefully overlap, evoking a silent elegance. Perfect in its simplicity, without visible thorns, it evokes an almost sculptural form.

🌿 Specimen 2 (center)

The most playful and iconic: three blades of different sizes, with small thorns applied individually by hand. It immediately recalls the typical silhouette of the prickly pear. A lively and characterful composition.

🌿 Specimen 3 (right)

Compact and harmonious, it has a more compact and stable structure. The thorns are carefully distributed on each blade, creating rhythm and movement. A plant that conveys strength and symmetry.

Dimensions: height 30/35 cm, diameter approximately 12/14 cm

How to care for your wood plant:

  1. No water, please!

Although it looks like a small plant, it should never be watered. Moisture can damage the wood or cause warping.

  2. Soft cleaning

Dust it gently with a dry, soft, non-abrasive cloth (such as cotton or microfiber). Do not use detergents or sprays.

  3. Avoid direct sunlight

Strong, direct light can discolor the wood over time. Prefer well-lit areas, but not direct sunlight.

  4. Keep it away from heat sources

Radiators, stoves, and fireplaces can dry out the wood or cause small cracks. It's best to keep it in a stable environment.

  5. Handle it with care

It's handmade, piece by piece. Each plant is unique and should be treated like a small work of art.

  6. Enjoy its natural shades

Wood changes over time: that's part of its beauty. The grain and tones evolve with light and air, making each plant increasingly "alive."
